Promoting the exchange of information and ideas pertaining to music theory since 1986.
Last year's very successful conference in Montreal, QC, suggested adding Nouvelle-France to our name from time to time! For our thirty-fifth annual meeting in 2020, we will repatriate and gather in New Haven on April 24–25. Our meeting will partly coincide with a Saturday afternoon symposium honoring Patrick McCreless, former President of SMT and Professor of Music at Yale, on the occasion of his retirement from the Yale faculty. This year's format allows for thirty-minute presentations with ample time for discussion, as well as unhurried breaks and mealtimes.
I am grateful to Peter Kaminsky (UConn), Akane Mori (Hartford), Suzannah Clark (Harvard), and Tatiana Koike (Yale) for agreeing to serve on this year's Program Committee. The Call for Papers is attached to this message; I encourage you to circulate it among colleagues and students. Also, please note that the deadline for submissions is January 6. More information about conference events and local arrangements will be posted here as the date approaches.
We look forward to reading and learning about new work in our field, and to renewing acquaintanceships in New Haven next April.
