Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to announce that the New England Conference of Music Theorists is reviving its annual conference and will be meeting on April 21-22, 2023 in New Haven. Please consult the call for papers for more details. Considering that we have not met since the excellent 2019 conference in Montreal, I anticipate a large and lively gathering of music theorists and teachers of theory-local and regional ones especially, but also those from a variety of places, backgrounds, identities, and interests, as has always characterized our meetings. The program committee looks forward to considering many exciting proposals.

More information about the April conference in New Haven, including program, banquet, and other local arrangements will be forthcoming. In the meantime, I am excited that the Conference is reviving after several years "long covid," and I am grateful to the Program Committee (Deborah Burton, chair; Richard Beaudoin, and Miriam Piilonen) and to local arranger Stefanie Acevedo for agreeing to help get us going again. I am also grateful that Secretary Christopher White and Treasurer Andrew Schartmann agreed to continue in their positions during "hibernation." Webmaster's responsibilities have passed from Eric Elder to Geoff Edwards, and I thank them both for working on that sometimes finicky object.

I look forward to greeting many of you at our meeting, April 21-22.

Sincerely,

Daniel Harrison
President, New England Conference of Music Theorists
